As you would expect from a company seriously dedicated to providing
appropriate software solutions for its customers we develop our
systems in a structured and documented manner. We usually use a
combination of the waterfall method coupled with some techniques,
such as early prototyping and phased functional delivery. Whilst
purely RAD approaches, such as DSDM, have their merits we feel that
in a commercial environment they are not always practical.
Process
Much of what we do is based on the following simple principles
which describe a structured way of working:
- specify what you want from the start;
- design and implement;
- review regularly feeding back into the task, and finally
- hand over and support the finished piece of work
Nearly everything we do fits into this plan, whether
it's writing documents, building web sites or, developing a bespoke
system.

Quality Management
Our attitude to quality is a combination of best practice based
on experience plus a pragmatic approach to documentation.
Since much of our work is carried out to a Fixed Price we have
plenty of incentives to get it right first time.
Information Management
Our company would very quickly get snowed under (both email and
paper) if it wasn't for a solid filing system. This was our motivation
for developing our "InfoStore" system, an electronic and
physical filing system that describes exactly where all documentation
should live, from contracts to support emails to technical magazines.
This enables anyone in the company to find information. It also
supports a decentralised department-based approach to maintaining
the company procedures, from Health and Safety to Coding Standards.
Finally InfoStore is available on our intranet so that staff can
access it either from the office or remotely from client site should
the need arise.
